Michele Bauer

Managing Partner

Michele Bauer has over 20 years of international experience working in various roles for companies such as: The Metropolitan Opera, Santa Fe Opera, La Monnaie (Belgian National Opera), Actor’s Theatre of Louisville, Spoleto Festival USA, Sydney Theatre Company, Malthouse Theatre and Victorian Opera.

She has completed her Masters in Arts Administration from the Australian Institute of Music; has a Secondary Education teaching degree from the University of Canberra; and has a History and Humanities degree from the University of Louisville.

Michele was the Interim CEO of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras and Mardi Gras Arts in 2015/16. She is currently the Head of Department for Entertainment Business at JMC Academy in Melbourne.

Michele had also been nominated for a Sydney Theatre Award for best lighting design – Independent Production of Cock at The Old Fitz.

Claudia Validum

Managing Partner

Claudia has nineteen years experience in the not for profit sector, with a background in program management and development. She has held leadership roles with Mission Australia and statewide senior management roles with Settlement Services International, Carers NSW and more recently Bobby Goldsmith Foundation. She is currently completing an Advanced Leadership Program with Women in Leadership Australia and works in a supervisory role for the Victorian Government.

She has volunteered in various positions both here and in the United Kingdom and was awarded the Millennium Volunteers Award in 2002, for her work and dedication as a mentor with youth in prisons and children with disability. Claudia is passionate about empowering the community particularly in the homelessness and mental health space. She has also ran her own successful wellbeing group (UpLift) for the GLBTQI community in Manchester (UK)

Her skills also include fundraising, events management, disability access, promotion and marketing, WHS and Risk Assessment. Claudia’s cross sector experience and business expertise serve to broaden Left Bauer’s work in the not-for-profit sector.

Cameron Lukey

Establishing Artistic Director (2013 – 2016)

A graduate from the Victorian College of the Arts with a Bachelor of Music
Performance (Honours) in 2009. From 2007-13, Cameron performed as a principal artist for Oz Opera and Lyric Opera of Melbourne, and chorister for Alexander Productions and Opera Australia. Recently, he was engaged as an Orchestra Manager for Victorian Opera and as the General Manager of Lyric Opera.

Cameron joined the team at fortyfivedownstairs as their Development Manager and Executive Producer in 2015.

Cameron has also gone on to form Cameron Lukey Presents in 2016
