Donna-Maree Dunlop is a graduate of the Australian National University and of the Queensland Conservatorium Of Music. She has worked extensively as a principal artist for Opera Australia, singing such roles as Siebel in Faust, Cherubino in The Marriage Of Figaro, Mercedes in Carmen, The High Priestess in Aida, Hansel in Hansel & Gretel, and The Fox in The Cunning Little Vixen.
Other engagements include the title role in Madam Butterfly and Himmliche Stimme in Die Frau Ohne Schatten both for the Victoria State Opera, Rossweise and Wellgunde in the State Opera Of South Australia’s Das Rheingold, Die Walkure and Götterdämmerung. Overseas, she has appeared as Speranza in Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo for the Israel Vocal Arts Institute in Tel Aviv, Cherubino in The Marriage of Figaro by Mecklenburgh Opera in London and as Tosca for European Chamber Opera.
From 2006 to 2009 Donna-Maree covered the role of Madam Giry in the Australian and Asian touring production of Phantom Of The Opera for The Really Useful Company and in 2012 played the role of Bev in Contact for the Victorian Arts Centre. In 2013, she received a Green Room nomination for her role as Leonore in Fidelio.
Donna-Maree’s concert work includes Mahler’s Lieder Eines Fahrenden Gesellen with the Bristol Sinfonia and appearances as soloist in Purcell’s Te Deum and Jubilate, in Vaughan-Williams’ A Sea Symphony and Serenade To Music, Mozart’s Mass In C Minor, the role of Mary in Berlioz’ L’Enfance Du Christ and Dido in Purcell’s Dido & Aeneas.
