Tod studied voice at The Queensland University of Technology and Queensland Conservatorium of Music, and has appeared in Opera Queensland’s productions of Turandot and Otello, and played Goro in Madame Butterfly for the Queensland Music Festival.
Other productions include – The Merry Widow (Cascada), Kiss Me Kate (Gremio), A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Forum (Protean), Joseph And The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat (Joseph), Grease (Sonny, U/S Kenickie), They’re Playing Our Song, Footloose (Travis, U/S Williard), the Australasian production of CATS (Tugger, Gus, Old Deuteronomy), Jekyll and Hyde (Mike), Jesus Christ Superstar (Judas) and Hairspray (Corny Collins), Love Never Dies (U/S Phantom and Raoul), Opera Australia’s South Pacific (U/S Cable), Assassins (Zangara), Hair (Berger), Parade (Hugh Dorsey) and Passion (Lt. Torasso). Tod was also a lead vocalist at Universal Studios Japan and soloist for composers Scott Alan, John Bucchino and Georgia Stitt in their Australian concerts. Recent TV credits include Dr. Blake Murder Mysteries (ABC).
Tod toured for many years with The Ten Tenors. Major events included The Emmy’s, The Eurovision Song Competition, The Melbourne Cup, The Australian Rules Football Grand Final, The Myer Music Bowl Carols By Candlelight, regulars on Kerri-Anne, Sunrise, Today, The Tony Danza Show (New York) the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon (Las Vegas) and various other radio and television shows nationally and internationally
Tod can be found on The Ten Tenors ARIA nominated platinum album Tenology, Larger Than Life DVD, Tenorissimo and the Amigos Para Siempre DVD recorded in Madrid. He also staged and choreographed The Ten Tenors The Power Of Ten world touring show.
Tod dedicates every performance to his mother, Eva, who was and always will be his source of inspiration.
